Summer wedding season is currently in full effect and chances are you’re probably attending one yourself. With such a variety of approaches to wedding ceremonies and venues, it can be difficult to know what’s appropriate to wear for any given celebration. To offer a little inspiration, here is the first in a series of three posts on how to dress for a summer wedding.
Classic, simple, elegant, refined, and sophisticated. When I think of a summer wedding taking place in the city, those are the words that immediately come to mind. I love classic looks where less is more and the devil is in the details.

Simple looks are often the most powerful, in my opinion, and really shine when there is a focus on impeccable fit. They also provide a fantastic opportunity to showcase some great subtle details, like a unique and intricate set of cufflinks.
This is the third time I’ve featured this suit on the site, though in different configurations. I wore the full three-piece version as my Preakness look this year, and the jacket as a separatedressing up some white denim. It’s always good to keep in mind that a suit is a versatile piece and can work in many different ways.
